The combined operations of these two groups will provide our North American customers with an even greater range of analytical chemistry and testing services.

Staveley Services Fluid Analysis (SSFA) analyse more than two million samples per year.

The ALS Laboratory Group is one of the largest and most diversified commercial laboratory groups in the world, with approximately 5,500 staff worldwide operating from more than 115 laboratories and offices located in 35 countries.

The senior management team of SSFA will continue with the business to help manage the further development and expansion of ALS’ fluid analysis business in North America. SSFA provides a broad range of services to clients in the transportation, mining, construction and industrial sectors. SSFA is recognised as the market leader in the provision of equipment condition-monitoring to the trucking, railroad, aviation and marine industries. Staveley Services Fluids Analysis is pleased to announce a new, easier to read test report layout in Praxis, our web based data management system.  The new test report groups test data in the following areas:

• Wear Metals
• Additive Metals
• Contaminants
• Physical Properties
• Particle Count (if applicable)
• Other Tests (if applicable)

The layout makes it easier to review and understand test results according to their relevance to equipment and oil condition for a quicker and clearer assessment of the data provided.

We are pleased to announce that Penske Truck Leasing has recognized Staveley Services Fluids Analysis with the 2007 Supplier Award for Support Components.   Staveley Services was presented with the award in Scottsdale, Arizona during a formal ceremony at the 2008 Penske Truck Leasing Team Conference in February.

Each quarter Penske Truck Leasing submits a survey to their personnel ranging from Vice Presidents to District Service Managers to rate each of their thirty-two main suppliers.  These suppliers represent all aspects of the transportation industry including engine manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers, tire companies, and various other accessory suppliers.  The quarterly surveys are averaged together each year to determine vendor improvement and overall ratings.    In addition to having the highest overall survey score in the support components category; Staveley was recognized for supplemental training for district and branch service managers and collaboration with various six sigma projects.

Over the years Staveley Service's management team has worked diligently to adapt to Penske's changing needs.  Our laboratories located in Atlanta, Georgia and Burlington, Ontario provide testing, training, and consulting for over 700 Penske locations.  In addition to the 2007 Support Components award, Staveley Services was recognized with the Most Improved Supplier award for Accessories in 2001 through 2003 and Most Improved Supplier in 2000 and Best Overall Supplier in 2006.

Staveley Services Fluids Analysis (SSFA) is pleased to announce that phase two development of our online customer interface, praxis, is well underway. The new features and functionality will be released in multiple stages. Once complete, praxis will include a diverse set of advanced management reports and statistical analysis tools and other improvements in appearance and functionality throughout the site.

Effective May 22, 2007, Staveley is releasing the following upgrades to praxis: 

May 2007 Changes:
New Report:
A new management report, Transit Time, is now available for praxis customers. This report helps the end user to determine the amount of time it takes for a sample to reach the laboratory for processing.

Name Changes:
Existing praxis users will notice name changes to some existing management reports. The newly named reports better define their functions. The Oil Interval and Extended Drain report will now be titled Fluid Age and Condition, and the Chronic Alarm report will now be the Component Watch report.

Staveley Services Fluids Analysis is proud to announce its EPA approval for testing Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel (ULSD) at its Chicago, Illinois location.  Newly mandated by the government, refineries must begin producing a new diesel fuel with 97% less sulfur for the over-the-road market segment. This new fuel is known as Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel Fuel and will be made available in all filling stations by October 15, 2006.

Our Chicago, IL laboratory coordinates with our network of labs throughout the country to properly route ULSD samples for testing. In addition to providing ULSD testing, our Chicago laboratory has a full slate of related diesel fuel testing capabilities.
